There’s no better time than right now to be engaged. Why? Fall 2019 Bridal Fashion Week is just around the corner, and that means we’re about to be treated to a whole array of brand-new, beautiful wedding dresses.
Twice a year, bridal fashion designers debut their latest collections in New York City, giving brides-to-be a first look at the trends to watch for. But before they do that, they give Martha Stewart Weddings an inside look at their wedding dress designs and the inspiration behind each new collection.
This season, 62 designers gave us a sneak peek at what’s to come, and you can trust us when we say the looks do not disappoint. One overarching trend? Old Hollywood glamour, which multiple designers site as this season’s inspiration.
Statement-making silhouettes, long trains, and vintage-inspired details that any big screen starlet would have love to wear are all on order. Another form of inspiration that came up over and over again? Nature. From flowers to the seasons, many of these bridal fashion designers looked outside for new ideas. But those aren’t the only ways these designers were inspired as they created their newest wedding dresses.
One collection was inspired by (and named after!) a Rolling Stones song; another used today’s modern bride as its muse; others still were inspired by favorite places, including Iceland, Oregon, and a family ranch in Idaho.
